The show is directed by Peter Berg and co-written by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta. Oscar-nominated actor John Hurt has been added to the upcoming series The Strain. The Strain is based on a graphic novel series that was written by Guillermo Del Toro. Del Toro co-wrote the script and will direct the show. The is about a CDC team that investigates a mysterious viral outbreak that appears to have an ancient strain of vampirism.
