Sci-fi regular Summer Glau is set to guest star on the second season of Arrow. Her previous television credits include Joss Whedon’s Firefly as well as Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Fans of the genre will certainly be excited about this news.
Showtime dramas Ray Donovan and Dexter saw viewer increases as they aired their second episodes of the season. For Donovan, the show saw a 15 percent increase in viewership, marking the first time a new Showtime series has had a ratings increase in its second episode.
NBC’s Community has been dealt a curve ball only a month after creator Dan Harmon announced he would be returning to the comedy for its fifth season. Donald Glover, who plays Troy, has announced he will only appear in five episodes of the show’s 13 episode season, so that he may devote more time to his music as Childish Gambino.
Ray has serious drama with two different actors in this episode. Sean, who we find out was involved with his dad being sent to prison, has trouble with his father and one of his brothers, while another actor is being blackmailed by a transvestite with a videotape. Mickey also goes out with the family for the day, angering Ray, who threatens Mickey’s life.
Showtime has greenlit a new documentary that will follow comedian Tig Notaro on her upcoming comedy tour. This will be no standard comedy tour, however, since Tig will be performing her comedy on a variety of fan’s homes. Fans of the comedian can apply to become a part of the project and potentially host one of the performances.
San Diego’s Comic-Con has announced the television panel and events schedule for its 2013 convention. A vast array of television programs are being represented by various events and panels. TV fans will not be dissapointed by the selection, which ranges from long-running favorites like Dexter, True Blood, and Dr. Who to newcomers like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sleepy Hollow, and Banshee.
The second episode of Dexter’s final season delivers seriously engaging drama and narrative. Dexter’s relationship with Dr. Vogel deepens and with that comes some startling information about Dexter’s serial killer grooming and upbringing. Jennifer Carpenter continues to deliver a fantastic performance as troubled Deb in the Showtime drama.
