With a capable cast and glossy look, Fox’s Almost Human takes the crime procedural and transports it into a world where robots are the norm and the police department requires all cops to partner with an android. Borrowing from sci-fi films and shows alike, the series paints a familiar world of future dystopia. While it looks good on the surface, there is not much behind this formulaic procedural drama.
BBC’s Doctor Who whet the appetites of fans with a well crafted webisode that explained the origins of the War Doctor (John Hurt). With a surprise appearance by Eight (Paul McGann), the show presented the creation of the War Doctor, and hinted at the darkness to come in the 50th anniversary special.
