Sylvester Stallone confirms ‘Rambo V’
"Time to put on the head band"
Whenever people think about Sylvester Stallone his portrayal of Special Forces Vietnam vet John Rambo is high up the list, having played the character four times. Well he is not done yet and confirmed through his
Twitter account that a fifth
Rambo movie is on the way.
The fourth
Rambo movie, simply called
Rambo was a part of Stallone's comeback, in the mid-to-late 2000s, along with
Rocky Balboa. From a budget of $50 Million
Rambo made over $113 Million at the box-office and $39 Million through DVD sales. It was met with a mixed reception from critics, but well received by fans and has a kill rate of 2.59 per minute.
Ideas for a fifth
Rambo movie has been in the works since 2008. Ideas included Rambo rescuing his daughter who had been kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel and the bizarre idea of Rambo being hired to hunt a genetically modified creature before it can reach civilization.
As well as revisiting the
Rambo series Stallone is set to respire his Rocky Balboa role for the spin-off movie
Creed. It is being directed by
Fruitvale Station's Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan will star as Apollo Creed's grandson who is being trained by The Italian Stallion. Also on Stallone's slate is the crime bio-pic
Scarpa which is being directed by Brad Furman (
The Lincoln Lawyer) and a fourth "Expendables" movie is a possibility.
