Stranger Things Adds New Regulars
Netflix’s supernatural hit of the summer,
Stranger Things, is gearing up for its second season with some new cast members. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have added Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery as series regulars and have promoted Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) to regulars after the duo previously had recurring roles, according to
Deadline.
Montgomery will play Bill, a confident guy who is "good at drinking games, drives a black Camaro and has a habit of stealing girls away from their boyfriends." He appears charming, but there might be something darker under the surface. Montgomery will also be in the upcoming
Power Rangers movie, alongside Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston, which recently wrapped.
Sink will play Bill’s younger step-sister. She is tough and confident, but has a complicated history that makes her suspicious of people around her. Sink had guest spots on
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,
Blue Bloods, and
The Americans. She will also be in two upcoming films;
The Glass Castle and
The Bleeder. Her career, however, started on Broadway in the revival of
Annie.
The second season of
Stranger Things will premiere in 2017 and will include nine episodes. Stay tuned for more news about Netflix's hit supernatural drama.
