Splatoon Gets Pokémon-Themed Splatfest

Next Saturday, or at least midnight EST on the 20th, Splatoon will be doing its second licensed Splatfest. This time, 90s kids get personal: Pokémon Red or Blue? This Splatfest will happen worldwide, but like other Splatfests, it only groups players within their region. Japan is based on Pokémon Red and Green, which were the first two versions released there. Speaking of Japan, Pokémon Center stores in Japan will be stocking Splatfest-themed shirts with Charizard and Venusaur on them. This is all because of the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. The Saturday after on the 26th, all the first generation of Pokémon games release for the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS, many of the event Pokémon are being given out for the sixth generation of games, and many other fun things.
