The show is preparing to launch its sixth season and will air on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m., with a special 90-minute long season premiere. Season five of Sons of Anarchy ranked highest with the viewers, while setting records as the highest rated program in the history of the channel. In total viewers, it recorded an average of 6.4 million.
The series is a drama with some comedic elements that follows a motorcycle club's quest to protect its livelihood, while still ensuring that their sheltered town in California, conveniently called Charming, remains peaceful and quiet. The gang of bikers is forced to deal with all sorts of threats, including drug dealers, corporate developers, and law officers. In addition to their thriving automotive shop, the motorcycle club runs a ruthless, illegal arms dealership driven by the seduction of money, power, and blood. The series stars Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller, the new president who must face the consequences of the motorcycle club's illegal activities before they tear the club apart. Katey Segal plays his mother, and Ron Perlman plays his stepfather and the club's former president. Season 6 begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, although his family life is struggling due to his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision. Tune in this fall in order to see what will happen.
