HBO’s True Blood missed the mark with its sixth episode, “Fuck the Pain Away.” A mess of disconnected storylines saw Billith take control of Warlow, Sookie attacked by a possessed Lafayette, and Jessica, Pam, Tara, and Eric captured and taken to Vampire Camp. While the storylines remained largely static, there were some bright spots amid the chaos, but the episode was largely a disappointment.

Since the events of the first movie Gru (Steve Carell) has given up being a villain and sets out to be good father to Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher) with the help of his little yellow Minions. But a new villain has emerged by stealing a secret Russian lab with formula which can turn anything into a purple hairy destructive beast. With no leads the Anti-Villain League (AVL) recruits Gru to find the villain who is located in a mall. Yet sparks starts to between Gru and his partnet, Agent Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wigg) while someone is kidnapping the Minions.

The sixth season of AMC’s Mad Men comes to an end with an absolutely poignant and successful episode. Don Draper can no longer run from his many problems and the agency faces an uncertain and exciting future.
NBC’s Hannibal ends its first season with a satisfying finale that sees Will Graham finally discover Hannibal Lector’s murderous tendencies, albeit not his Chesapeake Ripper actions. With a particularly strong finale, complete with Jack Crawford losing faith in Will, and strong performances from Madds Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy, Hannibal finishes its freshman season on a high note.
Accompanied with disturbing artwork, Saint Chaos #1 is the beginning of a dark story. A dark story about a man ready to end his life… and the maniac whose happy to take it from him.
In a multitude of ways, Man of Steel manages to deliver and is the best summer blockbuster film, thus far.
Don Draper is not having the best day in this latest episode; whie he is able to help someone he cares for, he gravely disappoints one of the most important people in his life. “Favors” is an episode that relies on the audience’s knowledge of the Mad Men characters’ pasts and how that affects their current behavior. Intriguing storylines and surprising developments make this episode the best of the season so far.
