Nintendo Announces New Pronoun

Proving that they are determined to find the worst possible names for all of their products, Nintendo announced that their next console will be called the “Wii U”.  Get it?  “We, You”?  I am not making that up.  If you can get over the silly name, there are three important things to know about the new pronoun.

Green Wake #3 – Review

Recently Green Wake was picked up as a new ongoing series from Image and Shadowline and the reason is because it’s one of the best new series of the year. It’s definitely one of the best books being published from Image and company on a monthly base. The series shows that story and art are equally important in a series and that there should always be a fine balance between the two.

Blue Estate #3 – Review

Upon finishing this issue I asked myself, “Where is this story going?” The novelty of the series is wearing thin as it continues to make fun of actors past their prime in this alternate fan fiction story that has more characters then scenes good enough to use said characters in. Really this series reminds me of the movie Big Trouble, only with more drugs, sex and violence. Ask yourself, if you added those three things to Big Trouble would the movie somehow be better? Or even good? If you found yourself saying yes, then you’re probably one of the people buying this book, which has developed a fan base of sorts.

Green Lantern Affinity – Parallax

As you may know, Parallax is one of the main villains of the new Green Lantern movie. What you may not know is that the character actually started out as Hal Jordan himself. Internal struggle isn’t even the half of it.

Magus #5 – Review

One of the strongest things about Magus is that it’s not forced to start with its main characters, but instead it starts with either a look at the world or a flashback to give the reader a richer, fuller view of the story. This issue is no exception as it starts with a look at Garrett Hick’s past and a time when he developed magic powers of his own. His family life had become completely messed up as his mother too, had powers and used them for everything including lobotomizing her husband. It’s a great window in the world of a man trying to take over the world.

Capcom’s Epic Fantasy: Dragons Dogma

Dragons
Dogma is a brand new title set to be released by Capcom. This third
person fantasy action RPG boasts some impressive visuals. It also comes
from the team that produced Devil May Cry 4 as well as Resident Evil 4, so
it is set to be a competent action game at the very least. Capcom
claims Dragons Dogma will take place in an extremely vibrant and large
open world. Through this world the player will be accompanied by a
party of three. The party will fight independently of the player and
will learn and adapt their own abilities based and what strategies
the player decides to implement. With gameplay that looks solid and
encounters suitably epic to the fantasy genre , Dragons Dogma seems
to be one to look forward to.

Devil May Cry E3 Trailer

Capcom
has shown off a new trailer for their upcoming reboot of character
action franchise Devil May Cry. As expected, the complete overhaul of
the main character, Dante, is still in the cards. Gone is the gothic/punk inspired hero of twelve years ago and he has been
replaced with a more modern and fresh interpretation of his
predecessor. The trailer seems to carry a new tone for the franchise.
There are no cheesy lines, in fact Dante has nothing to say at all,
which is not at all typical for the series. The over the top action
associated with the series maintains and it appears as though Capcom
has tried to push it even further, perhaps because of the high
standard that have been set by Bayonetta. Overall, it seems as per
usual for the Devil May Cry series, which is somewhat disappointing
given they had a real chance to mix things up with this reboot.

More Details on Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary

This clears
up a lot of the questions I’ve had about this game. What 343 have done is
essentially made the Reach engine run over the top of the old game. This means
that the gameplay is identical to that of the original Halo, so the pistol is
finally back after 10 years. I was pretty much sold when I saw the assault
rifle packs 60 rounds again, co-op play over Xbox live is also confirmed. There
isn’t anything concrete regarding the multiplayer apart from what was mentioned
about the gameplay. However, it certainly looks a lot more like Reach than it
does the original Halo.
