Atom Zombie Smasher – Review

Atom Zombie Smasher is a funny, clever indie game that combines a pinch of tower defense with a dash real-time strategy, and throws in a little RISK as well, for an addictive experience. Players control an orbiting defense platform that monitors and commands ground forces during a zombie outbreak.  While you won’t engage the enemy directly, you’ll deploy troops, set traps, and coordinate rescue vehicles all while plotting out a large-scale strategy from the safety of your satellite base.

The second half of Sony/Screen Gems’ panel consisted of Joe Cornish’s British alien invasion flick, Attack the Block, which has already gained a positive reputation internationally as well as in its several American screenings since its impressive debut at SXSW earlier this year. Comic-Con Movies 2011: The Amazing Spider-Man

One of the biggest, if not the biggest panel at this year’s Comic-Con was certainly the big-budget reboot of everybody’s favorrite web-slinging hero, The Amazing Spider-Man, which began with nine words: “you might want to put your 3-D glasses on.”

Freddy Krueger Revealed as Final DLC Fighter for Mortal Kombat

The final DLC character for Mortal Kombat will be none other than the dream terrorising Freddy Krueger. Now I love me some Mortal Kombat, and I love me some cheesy slasher movies and if there was ever an A-list of slasher villains he would be pretty near the top. This pedigree alone definitely makes Krueger a better addition to Mortal Kombat than Darth Vader or Yoda did to Soul Calibur.

Artifacts #8 – Review

The
positive reviews coming from everyone about this comic baffle me. The
dialogue from everyone at secret-headquarters is terrible and the
characters mostly act way out of character. The only redeeming
qualities are the art and the interactions between Sara and Jackie –
both still having their own flaws. And warning, there will be spoilers.

With
the Hunter-Killer headquarters under attack by several hundred
Aphrodite VI’s with the combined effort of Cyber Force, the Artifacts’
bearers and Hunter-Killer are put to the test of battling against them.
During this massive fight Sara and Jackie go off on their own, with
the help of Jackie’s shadows, to find their kidnapped daughter Hope.

Trailer Tracker: The Dark Knight Rises, Hugo and more

Could it have been
anything else? Our featured trailer this week is of course the now officially
released teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s mammothly anticipated follow-up
to his billion dollar smash. The fun doesn’t stop there, however, as we also
have Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of the beloved novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret, simply called Hugo, and the latest from Aardman Animation, creators of the
“Wallace and Gromit” films, The Pirates!
Band of Misfits
. Finally we’ll touch on two other big releases with the
star-studded Contagion and the remake
of the John Carpenter classic The Thing
which my fellow writers Julian and Steven have chatted about here and here
respectively. There is only one thing you need to know right now: you’re
reading Trailer Tracker.
