Following the return of Boardwalk Empire, HBO has released a short teaser trailer for the second season of Game of Thrones. In addition, the cable giant has revealed via their Twitter feed that the show is set to return in April 2012. After its pick-up back in April 2011, it had been long since announced that the show would return at some point in the spring of 2012, but with the month now tied down, fans can mark their calendars.
As for the mini-trailer, it reveals nothing in the way of new footage from the ten episode run of the second season, but does provide something in the way of mystery that helped make the first season so successful. You can check out the trailer below.
We were quite impressed with both games in the Witcher series, but were even happier when the first game received its Enhanced Edition that significantly upgraded the game. Next week, The Witcher 2will receive an equally ambitious upgrade, called the 2.0 patch.
Action cinema is not longer the preserve of Hollywood and more action movies and action stars are coming from nations around the world. Seeing that Killer Elite is able to be released, a movie starring two Brits, directed by an Northern Irishman and filmed in Wales and Australia, so what better way to celebrate then by looking at Player Affinity’s top 10 Foreign Action Stars.
Were you wondering what happened to Adam Jensen when he was in that storage crate for a few days durring that one mission in Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Really? You were? Well, that’s a little obsessive, but I suppose you’ll be glad to hear that the new Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC will provide five hours of gameplay devoted to explaining this loose end.
The first day of fall breaks forth in just a few days, so it is more than fitting to get a whiff of awards season which is not that far down the road. Our featured trailer this week is J. Edgar, Clint Eastwood’s biopic about the controversial founder of the FBI, to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
In principle, the X-Men comic series has all the necessary ingredients for a fun successful game. The movie franchise, while not always spectacular, opened it up to a large audience; it’s full of diverse characters with wild and wonderful powers and has the cross-media power of Marvel Comics behind it. However, for one reason or another, the X-Men have never had their Arkham Asylum. The closest they got was 2004’s X-Men Legends.
Another Emmy Awards show is in the bag,
and as always the results have drawn praise and condemnation in equal
measure. Well you can’t please everyone all the time. Then again,
unless you’re a big fan of Modern Family, there wasn’t much to
be pleased about – at least not in the comedy section of the
winners list. A couple of the Emmy voters choices in the field of
drama did help to smooth things over however.
The category for supporting actors in a
comedy series was actually doomed long before Jane Lynch came out on
stage. From the fall of 2010, to the spring of this year we were
treated to an incredibly strong season of comedic
television(especially in the spring). Making those months fly by
with laughter were a slew of gifted actors, nearly none of whom made
it into the nominations. For my money, the greatest injustice is
Park and Recreation’s Nick Offerman going without recognition
for what has quickly become one of television’s most iconic
characters. Of course, when two-thirds of the category is reserved
for the entire adult-male cast of Modern Family, it’s hard to
find room for Ron Swanson – let alone that mustache.
Unfortunately, the amount of undeserved praise for ABC’s massively
hit sitcom didn’t end with the acting categories.
Netflix’s announced change in pricing structure, which takes effect this month (for me on Wednesday in fact), charges significantly extra to retain both its flagship DVD-by-mail service along with Watch Instantly streaming service. Now, the company will sepearte its mail service from streaming and rebrand it Qwikster.
After weeks of some of the most confusing yet intriguing promotional material for any television show ever, Fox has seen fit to put out yet another trailer for the fourth season of sci-fi drama Fringe. The trailer gives a better look at actual fourth season material that isn’t distorted by cryptic messages like those that have come before it, but does once again largely revolve around the theme of “Where is Peter Bishop?”
Though his name is never mentioned, there are various flashes of the character, who disappeared from all states of existence at the climax of the third season. There is also a heavy emphasis on the fact that Lincoln Lee (Seth Gabel) has been promoted to a regular cast member, following his stint as a recurring character since the second season of the show, as he appears in almost every scene shown.
