Trailer Tracker: The Raven, Young Adult and More

Once upon a midnight
dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, there was a featured trailer on Player
Affinity called The Raven starring
John Cusack as a murderer-hunting Edgar Allen Poe. Then, director Jason Reitman
of Juno and Up in the Air reteams with scribe Diablo Cody for Young Adult, starring Charlize Theron
and Patrick Wilson. Though already covered on our site, I’ll toss in my two
cents about the first trailer for Marvel’s massive undertaking The Avengers and finally we shall see if
Michelle Williams’ Oscar buzz for portraying Marilyn Monroe is warranted in the
biopic about the starlet in My Week with
Marilyn
. Some like it hot and some like movie clips – it’s Trailer Tracker.

Person of Interest – Mission Creep

The names Jonathan Nolan and JJ Abrams suggested we’d get a more science-fiction based thriller with more of a long-term narrative. Instead, the show has turned out to be a “case of the week” mystery. It might not completely be time to come to terms with that violation of expectations, but regardless, the show does the formula pretty darn well.

Bethesda Clarifies Mojang Suit

As The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s launch approaches, Bethesda’s parent company, Zenimax, is pursuing a lawsuit with Mojang over trademark infringement.  Mojang’s upcoming game is entitled Scrolls and Zenimax feels the use of the word infringes upon their trademark for The Elder Scrolls.

Pete Hines, vice president at Bethesda said, “This is a business matter based on how trademark law works and it will continue to be dealt with by lawyers who understand it, not by me or our developers,”  He went on to say, “Nobody here enjoys being forced into this.  Hopefully it will all be resolved soon.”

Fallout Mods You Must Play

After hundreds of hours of roaming the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3, and the irradiated Mojave of Fallout: New Vegas, I had become a master at building perfectly efficient characters, and knew multiple ways to accomplish every quest.  The endless stretches of the wastelands has lost their wonder.  Fortunately, I wasn’t the only person who felt that I’d done everything there was to do in these games.  There is a massive community of modders out there who’ve spent countless hours adding new missions, features, locations and challenges.  If you choose the best mods out there, and combine them together, both Fallout 3 and New Vegas will offer a whole new world of adventures for even the most footsore wasteland wanderer.

Yearly Sequels: Are We Getting Sick of Assassin’s Creed?

In the middle of November we will be getting the third yearly entry in the Assassin’s Creed series since the second game.

Like most people, I was very skeptical ifBrotherhood was going to be good, but then it turned out to be quite awesome and I began to wonder: Can Revelations do it again so soon?   Brotherhood certainly didn’t feel like a full sequel to Assassins Creed 2. It was more like a really well made expansion pack, similar to those made by  many PC developers.
