A Green Arrow Tv Show Coming To the CW

The CW, which was formerly called the WB, for years has been giving DC Comics based live action television shows for fans to enjoy. Their favorite characters can jump out of the pages of comic books to their television screen. In the past years they have had televisions shows like Aquaman, Birds of Prey, and probably the most successful Smallville. Now the CW is ordering a brand new DC comics television show based on the comic book character Green Arrow. The show they say will probably be called “Arrow”.

The Green Arrow is a not a new comer to live action television or the CW. Justin Hartley had played the Green Arrow AKA Oliver Queen since 2006 on the television show called Smallville. If you are a Smallville fan like I am you might be thinking like I was. This could be a spin off, but no such luck. When the show was announced by the CW that the show is ready for the green light on the pilot they made sure to mention that Justin Hartley right now is not involved in the project. When I heard this news I was a little disappointed and excited at the same time because this means that the CW can show that they can make a successful DC Comics television show without it being affiliated with Smallville.

Featuring an assemble cast and winning a number of awards Traffic tells the story of the War on Drugs from the perspective of law enforcement, drug barons and the family of a user. The re-release comes courtesy of the Criterion Collection and despite not being about to report on their features their re-releases are often high quality affairs. The major First Release of the week is The Ides of March, the highly praise political drama by George Clooney that features a cast of acting heavyweights. The rest of this week’s First Release is sadly a unremarkable affair, though tweens may get a kick out of Taylor Lautner’s Abduction. If you are looking for a re-release the Criterion Collection offer us the French movie Belle de Jour and you also could have a double bill of two Robin Williams movies.

Catwoman #4 – Review

Catwoman has hit another rough patch with an almost absent storyline and a heroine stuck alternating between two modes: survive and grieve.  Even Batman fails to show up and save this comic from being a bit bland and somewhat forgettable, but not completely un-enjoyable… just far from the cat-tastic performance I would have expected from Catwoman #4.

After showing up at a very bad time with a body, burnt evidence and a hysterical Selina, the police try to show Catwoman a good time before she makes her escape and continues to suffer the after-effects of her friend Lola’s death… as well as the electrifying grip of a new enemy.

The Artist Review

The Artist is a silent film, but more so an homage to those films. After all, what better way to make a movie about silent movies than to make a silent movie? And in an era when a lot of movies don’t know when to shut up, how nice to have some silence.
