SDCC 2015: Gears of War: Ultimate Edition to Become Xbox One Pack-In
"A SDCC panel brought several bits of new news about the upcoming Gears of War: Ultimate Edition"
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition developers held a panel at San Diego Comic Con this week during which they revealed some nice new tidbits of info, alongside some general good talk about the game and their process.
First up is the news that the game will come as a free pack-in with every new Xbox One from the point of the game's August release. The price for this bundle will be in line with the usual price of the system, I.E something like $350.

Interestingly they also addressed why the
Ultimate Edition is only a remake of the first
Gears game and not the entire trilogy a la
The Master Chief Collection. In short: Resources; it's just really hard to remake although those games. For the longer answer though here's what one of the developers said:
"It's really hard work [to remaster an entire series]. It takes a long time. It took us in the end 16-18 months to do the first one, and to try and do three games... How many people would we need to have? It just wasn't logistically or physically or technically possible. For us it was really about what can we do, what can we focus on."
