Welcome to Rumor Has It, Player Affinity’s roundup of huge movie rumors. On this week’s docket, we have another rumor about Justice League.
Is Warner Bros. interested in Frank Miller helming Justice League?
At first, this rumor sounds like it’s too odd to be true, but that might also be the sign of something so crazy that no one could make it up.
According to Bleeding Cool, marketing people from Warner Bros. entered a comic shop – initially pretending to be casual shoppers and fans – and asked its employees questions about superhero films without Christopher Nolan’s name attached and general opinions on the oft-maligned Aquaman. They also ridiculed Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man, and to their dismay, the employees said they’d likely enjoy the film.
After a series of inquiries and comments, the WB marketing people asked how fans would react if Frank Miller was attached to Justice League. An alignment with the film might mean nothing more than a producing credit, but to date, the writer-director has only produced one film: 300, the 2006 action epic based on his graphic novel.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that Miller is negotiating for “League” or that he’s even been approached. Still, if there’s truth to this rumor, WB clearly has interest in him hopping on board to direct.
