Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will be the next girl to inherit the honored role of wearing a low-cut shirt while running away from explosions in the next Transformers film. Huntington-Whiteley replaces Megan Fox, who supposedly left the franchise on her own terms after a feud of words with director Michael Bay.
Deadline Hollywood reported yesterday that Huntington-Whiteley topped the shortlist of candidates for Paramount, but have since amended the reports saying that the other actresses have been told the part is going to Huntington-Whiteley, who I'm about to call "RHW" because her name just sucks to type out.
The choice is unsurprising for Bay, who has spent much time working with Victoria's Secret and supposedly Hun ... RHW in particular. Of the three candidates, she's the only one without any acting credits on imdb, interestingly enough. Other potential ladies on the list to appear way out of Shia LaBeouf's league were Sarah Wright (The House Bunny) and Brooklyn Decker (Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and upcoming co-star in Just Go With It with Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler).
The supermodel angle is far from unexpected, considering the whole concept of the female lead in Transformers at this point is to give the eye something soothing to look at after 15 straight minutes of CGI machinery clunking around and blowing stuff up. Expect RHW to excessively polish some mode of transportation with an engine in "Transformers 3," which starts filming soon with a July 1, 2011 release date.
Meanwhile, enjoy some photos of stick-thin Rosie below.
