Beyond Good & Evil HD update announced

The classic PS2 action-adventure game Beyond Good and Evil will be remade with HD visuals for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game was well received when it first came out, and for those who can’t remember the story follows Jade, a female investigative reporter and martial artist who works for a resistance movement trying to uncover an alien conspiracy.

PSN and Store releases for 9/27/10

A big drop this week. Dead Rising 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock are probably the most notable store releases for the PS3. While on PSN there is Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which is an isometric cooperative adventure, and could be an interesting move away from the franchises normal roots. For the PSP, the new demo of GOD OF WAR Ghost of Sparta should be worth a look.

NBA ELITE Delayed

EA have announced that there will be a delay on their new NBA franchise, NBA ELITE. The delay may be linked to the recent demo which some have criticized for being buggy. It featured a brand new control scheme that relies heavily on the analogue sticks to shoot and defend, and which received some negative feedback.

Sonic 4 Delayed

Sega has announced a new launch date for the official next installment of the famous, often misunderstood, Sonic franchise. Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will release as a downloadable game on October 12, 2010 on PSN for $14.99. The episodic title will also be released on the Wii virtual console, XBLA and the iTunes App Store. Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 was slated for a summer release. No word on why the game was moved up into a much more competitive market or how many episodes will follow.

Little Big Planet 2 delayed until January

A rumour had been working its way around the net over the last few days suggesting that Little Big Planet 2 might be delayed. And now unfortunately Media Molecule, the studio behind the game, have confirmed that LBP 2 will no longer meet its original release date of November 16th.

PSN Store releases 9/21/10

Some interesting things appearing this week on the PSN store, like the inclusion of two Japanese PSone Imports: Cho Aniki, a shooter, and Gaia Seed, a side-scrolling futuristic shooter. There is also with an update of the Dreamcast title Sonic Adventure. Hopefully this will be the start for other interesting retro and Dreamcast games to hit PSN.

PSN Down for Maintenance Tomorrow

Sony have confirmed that the playstation Network will be down for scheduled maintenance tomorrow, September 21st. PSN blog states: “Maintenance is expected to start at just after 8 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 5 pm Pacific. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home or Account Management, and may encounter difficulty while signing in to PSN.”

Zipper Interactive have confirmed that their PS3 exclusive MAG is heading for a large update. The patch, known as MAG 2.0, is the biggest patch yet for the game and should be arriving in the next few weeks.

Armageddon Blows Its Way Out of Crowded March

THQ has revealed their tentative release dates for its upcoming games. In addition to announcing Saints Row 3 and the fact that future UFC: Undisputed titles will not be released on a yearly basis for quality reasons, high profile game Red Faction: Armageddon will be pushed back from a March 2011 release to a May 2011 release. So why the two-month roll back?
