Tomb Raider Trilogy Confirmed For PS3

As is becoming the tradition these days, Crystal Dynamics has announced that they will be releasing some of their back catalog on the PS3 in the near future. The last three Tomb Raider games, Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld, will be released together under the name Tomb Raider Trilogy. This actually marks a significant event for fans of Lady Croft and the PS3, as the former two games have never appeared on Sony’s console before. Unlike Ubisoft’s similar efforts with Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider Trilogy will be disc-based and not available for download.

Apocalypse Coming Q2 2011

The Mayans were wrong. It looks like the apocalypse will be coming a little earlier than expected, courtesy of Sony and Evolution Studios. The newest entry in the PS3’s flagship Motorstorm franchise, subtitled Apocalypse, has been revealed to be coming Q2 of 2011. This spring-summer release date is perhaps a response to Motorstorm Pacific Rift’s poor sales during its holiday 2008 release.

Tales of Xillia Announced For PS3

After what has seemed like forever, the rumored PS3-exclusive Tales of game has finally been announced by Namco Bandai. Titled Tales of Xillia (and no, we do not know how to pronounce that either,) it will be released in Japan in 2011. The game, which is being directed by Tales of Symphonia vets Anana Inoki and Naoto Miyadera, looks like a typical game in the series, featuring cel-shaded graphics and a real time battle system. Further details are unavailable at the time, but we will keep you updated on future developments. No word has been given yet on an international release.

PSN and Store Releases 12/15/10

As with last week, not much in the way of new store releases this week. But, there are some good games out on Playstation Network. PROTOTYPE is a solid game with a strong story, and LittleBigPlanet – Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves will give those waiting for LBP2 a little more Sackboy to keep them going. Also, the re-release of the old X-Men arcade game will provide some good nostalgic gaming for those who remember it.

Final Fantasy IV Announced for PSP Release

Final Fantasy IV was first released way back in 1991 as a SNES game, but as with much of the Final Fantasy series it has been re-released many times on different consoles and is now heading for the PSP.

The PSP game will be called Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection and as well as including the original game it will also include its follow up Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, which itself was only originally released in 2008 as a mobile game inJapanFinal Fantasy IV: Complete Collection is also said to include a new gameplay section designed to bring the two games closer together.

Mortal Kombat to Disembowel Consoles April 2011

Mass Effect 2 Gets PS3 Release Date

Mass Effect 2 was a huge critical and commercial success when it was first released in January of this year, and EA have now confirmed to IGN that Mass Effect 2 will definitely be coming to the PlayStation 3, with a release date of January 18, 2011 in the US, and January 21 for Europe.
