PS3 MMO Controller

If you’re interested in playing MMOs on the PS3, but want to use a keyboard, then you’re in luck. Then again, that’s next to nobody. I’m sorry if you are interested in that idea, but the niche that this controller is going for is so small. To want to use this, you have to: 1. […]

E3 ’10: Gran Turismo 5 Dated, Fully 3D

After years and years and years and years of people waiting, you’ve finally got a release date for Gran Turismo 5. November 2nd, 2010.

Let’s be honest, if they do delay the game again, the world may explode with rage. Apart from that, and the announcement that it would support full 3D, there really wasn’t anything involving Gran Turismo 5 shown at the press conference. Surprising.

Sony, you’ve got to release it this time; you really have no choice.

E3 ’10: Assassins Creed: Brotherhood Beta Incoming

At the Sony presser, they announced an exclusive beta for the very highly anticipated (especially after last nights great demo at Ubisoft) title, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.

They didn’t just get the exclusive beta, they’re also getting some side missions for the game as well. From everything I’ve seen of this game (including the trailer they shown at the Sony press conference), it looks very promising. I wasn’t expecting much as I’m not a big multiplayer gamer, but I’m still excited to hope back into Assassins Creed.

E3 ’10: God of War: Ghost of Sparta Announced

God of War: Chains of Olympus was a hit; reviewing very well. So, like expected, a sequel was announced. God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

An interesting name. All we really got from the speaker was that it will delve deeper into Kratos’ rise to becoming a God. Of course it’s God of War so it’ll review well, some people will love it. And some people will complain loudly saying it’s the same thing as before. I for one am just not going to give it a look.

Are you? Expect Ghost of Sparta to be released later this year.

E3 ’10: Medal of Honor and Dead Space 2 PS3 Extras

It was rather surprising how many exclusive packages that Sony is acquiring. They’re pulling a Microsoft on us. The latest in Sony’s acquisitions is it getting a Medal of Honor Special Edition. Included is not just the game itself, but also a fully HD version of the 2002 hit Medal of Honor: Frontline, which I know makes a lot of people happy. Of course, skipping Frontline and playing the new, full (and what looks to be a damn fine game) Medal of Honor is an option too. The beta starts June 21.

If you purchase the Dead Space 2 Special Edition, which is exclusive to the PS3, you will receive Dead Space Extraction as well. Extraction is fully compatible with Move. Sound like a good deal? I thought so. No price was announced for it, but I’d assume 70 bucks, 80 bucks tops. I was already sold on Dead Space 2, but adding this in made me buy it for PS3. Good job, Sony.

E3 ’10: Portal 2 Coming To PS3

When a sultry AI voice came over the Sony Press Conference’s speakers, I was immediately excited. I was a bit confused, sure. But man, GLaDOS! Something about that voice makes me smile. Then Gabe Newell came out, looking like he was about to get attacked by a bunch of Sony fanboys.

He then went on to announce that Portal 2 would be coming to the PS3 and would be “”the best version on any console.” Strong words from a man that never seemed to be too into the PS3. It wasn’t only that, he also announced full Steamworks support for Portal 2 on the PS3. Which will be the only console to receive that feature.

E3 ’10: Playstation Plus Announced

It’s been speculated for a while but Sony has finally announced it: a (optional) subscription to PSN, entitled Playstation Plus. If you join Playstation Plus, you’ll get access to a lot of exclusive content plus some games. All this could be yours for 50 bucks a month.

The first month of service will feature Wipeout HD, a trial of inFAMOUS, two PSP mini games and the PlayStation classic Rally Cross. The real catch here is that you only get this stuff while you’re subscribed, you can’t sign up, get it, then leave.

E3 ’10: Twisted Metal!

TWISTED METAL TWISTED METAL TWISTED METAL

Today, at Sony’s E3 Press Conference, David Jaffe (The man that said he wouldn’t be at E3 and definitely wouldn’t be showing a Twisted Metal game) showed a Twisted Metal game. And it looks great. It was reviled with a semi-funny, semi-amazing trailer and then followed up by some very fine looking game play.

With destructible environments, 16-player online, 4-player split-screen, Twisted Metal is definitely something to watch for in 2011.

Final Fantasy XIII Causes Some Issues

Video Interview with Virtual Air Guitar CEO

Controller-less gaming is one of the main topics of discussion that is on the minds of gamers everywhere, especially with E3 less than a week away. Project Natal is right on the horizon for Xbox 360 and the PS Eye is being used in new and innovative ways to help immerse gamers even more into their gaming experience.

On that note, I had a chance a few weeks ago to chat with the CEO of Virtual Air Guitar, Teemu Maki-Patola, about their new game Kung-Fu Live, expected to be released just in time for the holiday season on the PlayStation Network and to be used in conjunction with the PS Eye.
