Duke Nukem Forever’s ‘Capture the Babe’ Causes Fake Controversy

What’s more shocking than a Duke Nukem Forever mode that features you capturing a stripper, throwing her over your shoulder, and slapping her butt? How about Al Bundy liking women?
Duke Nuke caused fake controversy recently with the reveal of their
‘Capture the Babe’ mode. This mode is basically capture the flag, but
the flag is a stripper, and yes, she’s treated very much like an object.
This isn’t what really caused the controversy. No, treating women as a
literal object is not the cause at all. It’s the fact that you have
the option to slap her butt.

PS3 HD Collections That Should Be Made

With the releases of the God of War and Sly Cooper collections out, and the Shadow of Colossus/Ico and Tomb Raider
collections on the way, it’s apparent to game developers that this sort
of thing is a good idea. While these compilations haven’t made nearly
as much as other games, these games cost much less to produce. All they
really require is a new coat of paint, and maybe a little debugging.
That being said, there are a lot of last generation classics and this
would help them get around that whole backwards compatibility thing.
These are just some of the series that might be worth putting into a
collection.

MLB 11 Producer Jason Villa Interview

Most of us single guys out there (and
maybe even some of us with significant others) saw only one significance with
February 14th this year: Pitchers and Catchers are officially
reported. And with the crack of the bat and the smell of fresh cut grass soon to
be once again bombarding our senses, we know that baseball season is right
around the corner.

Something else that’s right around the
corner that also comes as a harbinger of the upcoming glorious baseball season
is Sony adding another chapter to their premiere baseball series MLB The Show.

Are You Ready for Killzone 3?

Now
that we’ve had a small yet satisfying taste of what to expect from
the impressive multiplayer component in
Killzone 3,
we can only speculate that the campaign will bring more of the same
unparalleled shooting action. The
Killzone
series is probably one of the most underrated shooters ever and,
since FPS games are not particularly the most popular on the PS3,
it’s clear as to why this is so. Regardless, the KZ3 multiplayer beta
gave players a nice glimpse of the game’s cinema quality graphics and
unmatched weapon physics and realism. The game itself plays much like
its youngest predecessor Killzone 2, but the game has been refined
and tuned even further—which makes for a truly satisfying and
authentic first person shooting experience.

The PS3 Team’s Most Anticipated Games of 2011

2010 was a great time to be a gamer, and it looks like 2011 will continue that trend. There should be a ton of great games coming all year long, but all of us have at least one that we’re looking forward to more than others. It doesn’t have to be rational or perfectly reasoned, it’s just the game we can’t wait to get our hands on. These are our picks for the games we’re most eagerly anticipating as Playstation 3 owners for the rest of the year.

Gamers, Let’s Talk About Feelings

I’m starting to think that our glorious hobby has turned into a Care Bear fest. When Grand Theft Auto 4 took heat for its morals, we were jumping all over the networks for their thoughts and lack of journalism. Stories like this pop up all the time, and what do we do? We jump all over the place, defending our different positions on video games. We’re screaming and arguing the whole time of who is right and wrong.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Preview

Game Informer has run a big feature on Bethesda’s newly announced Elder Scrolls sequel, Skyrim, and boy does this sound good. It’s been two hundred years since the events of Oblivion, and the world has fallen into chaos. Elves have taken over the empire, the Blades have died out, and the country is sitting on the precarious brink of civil war. As if that weren’t enough, a super-powerful dragon has been tearing the world asunder as prophesied by the Elder Scrolls. Just when it seems that the kingdom, and perhaps the world itself, are doomed to be flame-broiled dragon snacks, a hero arises to slay the foul beast. This is, of course, where you come in.

The Other Games of 2010

When you get a bunch of people together and tell them to agree on what the best games of the year were, no one is going to leave the room completely happy. Personal favorites fall by the wayside when a consensus has to be reached, and while we stand by all of our selections for the various awards we came up with, we all have stuff we’d like to see get recognized that would otherwise fall through the cracks. So here we are: the members of the PS3 team and the games that may not have been the best all year, but are close to our hearts. These are our favorite games that didn’t manage to win any of the awards.

The Player Affinity PS3 Awards

Best Character: Bayonetta (Bayonetta) When *Bayonetta* arrived early this year it seemed to come out of nowhere to huge critical acclaim. This was undoubtedly helped by its title character, who happens to be a shapeshifting witch with very remarkable hair that she can use as a weapon. It’s no exactly uncommon for the Japanese to use hot female characters in video games, but *Bayonetta *seems to have a charm that makes her as memorable as she is unique.
Runner Up: *John Marston (Red Dead Redemption)*

Ten Problems to Solve for The PS4 and Next XBox

Sony have been talking about their ten year lifespan for the PS3 from day one, and Microsoft have suggested Kinect will add another five years to the Xbox 360’s life.
