With Superbot and Sony Santa Monica’s star studded brawler on the near horizon, Sony have released info on the public beta for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. However, PS Vita and PS Plus owners will have the opportunity to play before the general public, starting this week.
For PS Vita owners and PS Plus subscribers on PS3 the beta will be playable from October 16th (17th in the UK) and can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. The beta will then go fully public on October 23rd (24th in the UK).
Unfortunately, the beta isn’t exactly brimming with content, but there’s enough to get a feel for the game. In terms of characters players can try out Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, PaRappa and Fat Princess. The two stages on offer are Metropolis which blends Ratchet’s city with a God of War theme as well as the original Hades stage with a hint of Patapon. And while four player and 2v2 online tournaments are confirmed, there’s no word yet on split-screen. You can check out the beta release trailer below.
As well as the beta, Sony have also unveiled more costumes that will be available to players who pre-order the game. There’s a great selection of alternate attires from Big Daddy’s doll form or Kessler-Cole. You can check those out in the image below.
