On Its Way: Portal 2 DLC
Valve is bringing DLC to Portal 2. Valve’s Doug Lombardi spoke with Kotaku
at Gamescom and confirmed the DLC may be released
mid-September for all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, Mac, and PC). Best of all, it will be free.

I guess I should start off by saying that I have never played a game quite like Catherine. Maybe if I played more Atlus titles that would be different, but I haven’t, so I took some time after beating it to reflect on the game and the experience I had before sitting down to write this review. The protagonist is Vincent Brooks, a 32 year old guy that is meandering through life. He has been dating his girlfriend Katherine for about 5 years, but experiences a personal crisis when she starts hinting that she wants to settle down and start a family. He’s also started suffering from weird and terrifying dreams at night that he can’t seem to recall when he wakes up. These dreams are the nightmare levels.
A
new post on the official PlayStation blog outlines the bonus features
that will be included on the Blu-Ray disc featuring the HD remasterings
of two of the PS2’s best games, including a newer look at their
spiritual sucessor. I haven’t exactly been jumping to buy games I’ve
already played again, but some of the features here, along with getting
to see two games with unique and remarkable art design with improved
visuals, has me somewhat tempted.
Today Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. released a new trailer for
Batman: Arkham City, the latest to reveal a new villain that will appear
in the game. This time it’s Mr. Freeze, everyone’s favorite evil genius
ice-themed widower. With this trailer, Rocksteady have now officially
confirmed that every single preexisting Batman character will appear in
their game, as long as they appeared in at least one issue of the comic
or one episode of the various animated series.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be out in November and the
upcoming multiplayer beta begins exclusively on PSN on September 3rd. Come the 11th, however, and the beta will also be available on Xbox Live, but that still gives PS3
owners a good solid week head start to see what Ubisoft is doing with the
multiplayer portion of the next entry in their iconic hooded stab-fest
franchise. To get access to the beta on PSN you simply need to be a
subscriber of Plus or have an Ubisoft Uplay account. Uplay is free so I
imagine most people will go with that.
Giant robots and especially mechs are still the coolest thing in the world for
me and if there is one game franchise that defines them it is MechWarrior. If you didn’t grow up playing these games, let me give you the quick
rundown. They are set in a universe known as the Battletech-verse,
as named after the original release of the board game titled Battletech
in 1984,
which later went on to spawn numerous offshoots such as a collectable
card
game, a table top game and what I am here to talk about specifically, a
video
game series.
2K
Games announced yesterday via their Twitter account that they will be featuring a first sneak peek of
Borderlands 2 at Gamescom. Save the date,
because on August 19th 2K Games’ blog will be streaming live the
Borderlands 2 reveal. In case you didn’t know, Borderlands 2 is the follow-up to the very successful Borderlands game developed by Gearbox.
