God of War: Origins Collection Review

By this
point the God of War franchise is one that really doesn’t need much of an
introduction. It’s safe to say that by now if you haven’t warmed up to the series
for whatever reason, you’re probably never going to. God of War: Origins Collection is the
second re-mastered HD collection for the PS3 and it contains both of the
previously exclusive PSP titles (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta)
developed by Ready at Dawn Studios.

Digital High Episode 10 – Dead Island woes and our top 3 holiday picks

This week on Digital High we get into
why Dead Island is a disappointment, why Warhammer 40k Space Marine is the
surprise hit for the year, and Donna goes somewhat old-school in her game playing
for the week. We also pick our top three choices out of the upcoming fall
releases for 2011.

Trailers are abound from TGS with
Ninja Gaiden 3, Sould Calibur 5 and Dead or Alive 5. I still can’t believe a
fighting game trailer has a mirror match in it, but you can never have too much
Ryu Hayabusa. In light of the story regarding Heavy Rain and used games, we
also discuss whether or not games really are too expensive and how their
pricing can be improved.

Quite a bit of news to discuss also,
everybody’s favorite game retailer entering the tablet scene, Nintendo losing
money due the 3DS and the studio behind Bodycount are being closed down.

PS Vita gets Rolled up into Katamari

Both Konami HD Remakes Coming to Vita

Kojima announced at TGS that the HD remake collections of Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders will also be making their way to the Vita –
both of course featuring the new “Transfaring” feature. The games are
not alone, though, as Kojima had more up his sleeve with a new title in
the works that will feature Transfaring, and thus be on both the PS3 and
Vita.

While
the announcement of a new game featuring Transfaring is surprising, it
really wasn’t unexpected. It only made sense that at least the Metal Gear Solid collection as a whole would be coming to a portable system. Seeing that most Metal Gear Solid fans beat Peace Walker
a little more than a year ago, they’d probably need more of an
incentive to try the new system. Also, it’s an easy port to the Vita.
