Somebody call Shepard because the Normandy may have sprung a leak. News is breaking right now with screen shots from an unofficial Mass Effect 3 demo. The demo contains placeholder textures and music, as well as features like Origin support and game modes: Action/Story/RPG. Reportedly, the demo is lurking inside a closed preview for its upcoming revamp of the Dashboard for the Xbox 360. Thanks to PlayMagUK for breaking the story.
We are literally days away from the release of the next installment of one of the biggest gaming franchises ever: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. While many people may already be planning the campout at their local Wal-Mart (or wherever else it is you go to buy games in the middle of the night) there is a simple solution for those of us who are not so die-hard.
Play the first Modern Warfare instead. Wait, this is not the giant step backward that some of you may think. Here are a few facts for you to chew on (and do not spit them back out, either). First, this game is not dead at all. I logged in and found hundreds of populated servers ready for my bombing runs and helicopter strafing attacks, though I was annoyingly shot to death through walls more times than I care to admit. Whether this happened because of cheating, or that the other players were so familiar with the maps that they just knew the camping spots I do not know remains to be seen.
Apparently, Call of Duty fanboys…I mean, “players,” feel that a game becomes obsolete once it hits the one-year mark. How else do you explain the outrageous sale numbers with each yearly Call of Duty release? I know it might be hard, but instead of answering the latest “Call”, why not play a shooter that was released in the far-gone year of 2007? This shooter is Valve’s Team Fortress 2, and it was described as “The most fun you can have online” by PC Gamer for a reason (or two…or three…or…).
Tired of fighting the same old Russians, and Jihadists in your military shooter? The next installment in theRainbow 6 series will pit you against America’s newest threat: Itself! The game will have players going up against a group of Americans called “The True Patriots” who are out to reclaim the country from a government they see as corrupt. With a story ripped from the headlines, the game industry will no doubt see some interesting debates over this subject in the next year.
Yee haw, I reckon this here trailer for Reckoning looks right purty, I reckon. I reckon you cowpokes outghtta mosey on down to the bottom of this here page and take a gander at the gamplay footage, I reckon. I can’t quite reckon why the game’s called “Reckoning” when there ain’t no cowboys in it, but I Reckon the folks what made it got a good reason, I reckon.
In a recent radio interview, Torchlight 2 developer Runic
Games
released some new information on their upcoming ARPG. Perhaps the biggest news for
eager fans is actual talk of a beta test. Details are sketchy, but it
appears
Runic wants to test their new matchmaking technology that will be used
in
Torchlight 2’s multiplayer mode. If they do run a beta test, it will
most
likely be a closed one (at least at first).
