The Humble Bundle IV is already a great deal in that it gives you seven awesome indie games for whatever amount you want to pay, but it just got better because they are now adding in the five games from the third Humble Bundle, bringing to total to twelve great indie games.
After getting off to a good start yesterday, Steam charges ahead with the second day in their two-week long holiday sale. Every day between now and January 1st, they’re going to have a different selection of games marked down by ridiculous amounts. They also have “Pack Deals”, and sales on the entire catalogs of some publishers. This a great chance to buy some gifts for your pals who have Steam accounts. Yeah… “Gifts”. That’s the ticket.
Previously on Player Affinity we had named Alan Wake as one of the console exclusives we most wanted to see on PC, and now that wild pipe dream has come true. Yesterday, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Alan Wake will complete its long journey to the PC in early 2012.
Skyrim seems to be a place of epic contrast. Extreme diversity of lifestyle are apparent through numerous cities, and some characters seem to live terribly troubled lives. Today, I met a girl in a small town, no older than six years of age. Upon introducing myself to her she says, “If you beat up my sister, I won’t tell”. I speak to her sister, who confides in me by saying she spends her time away from the house to avoid beatings from her sister and father. This to me seemed like one hell of a troubled family. What’s the daughters answer to this? Does she confide in a higher source of power who could solve the problem or does she flee from the town? Neither. Instead, she decides to learn destruction magic to defend herself. Next time Father preps her for a beating, she’ll burn him alive by cannoning fireballs out of her hands. Sweet Justice
Head to the Companion guild in Whiterun and you’ll meet a guy named Brill. The Tting about Brill is, he’s not that brill’ at all; he’s pretty shit. Whilst the rest of the Companions seem to be heading out on hunts and killing bandits, Brill is content on just getting absolutely hammered. “Sobriety is overrated” he says. This man is literally incapable of giving a single worry to anything around him. What’s amazing is the Companions don’t seem to care. They’ve apparently “rescued” him and set him up on a redemptive path of guzzling mead. Heroes.

Killing a space warthog with a lightsaber is pretty much the same thing as hitting a magical warthog with a magic sword. It’s neat to see a MMO in a sci-fi setting like Bioware’s upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic as opposed to the usual fantasy world, but the question remains as to what will make this game more than “World of Warcraft, but Star Wars”?
Epic has revealed their new IP: Fortnite. Details are scarce right now, but as seen in the short trailer, the game features a cartoony art style and looks to be a zombie survival game. According to Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski, players will be able to “explore, scavenge, build and survive.”
In a short interview with Mike Schramm [Joystiq], Bleszinski said the idea for the game was pitched internally. “I was a staunch supporter of the idea, because the game is just like a no-brainer — I was like, yes.” Although Lee Perry is the project lead for Fortnite, Bleszinski will be involved providing feedback as the game develops.
