Celebrated and experienced game designer Peter Molyneux is to leave Lionhead and Microsoft to work with a new, independent outfit. Concluding his work on Fable: The Journey, Molyneux will be leaving Lionhead and Microsoft to work for indie venture 22 Cans.
EA and Maxis have just revealed their plans to make SimCity 5 at GDC. The senior vice president of Maxis, Lucy Bradshaw confirmed that the new 3d installment will release on PC in 2013.

Bethesda Softworks PR and Marketing VP Pete Hines responded to rumors about Doom 4’s supposed cancellation by telling Joystiq, “When we’re ready to talk about it and show it off, we’ll let everyone know.” A batch of screenshots was leaked on AllGamesBeta which supposedly were from the “cancelled” Doom 4. However, id Software design director Matthew Hooper stated that the “Those images have nothing to do with what you’re gonna see in Doom 4.”
Commander Shepard returns this week to finally thwart The Reapers and their attempt to destroy civilization. Perhaps the galaxy would be better off if the heroes of Mass Effect just stayed home and left the Reapers alone.
