Steam Abuses More Wallets

Oh how I love to hate Steam’s big sale sessions. Steam’s sales mercilessly beat the shit out of my wallet until all of its lifeblood-money has been pounded out. But, like that cliché television housewife, I keep going back for more despite the abusive husband. It’s so damn hard not to come back when the gettin’ is just so good. A Closer Look at The Secret World

The Secret World is an MMO set in modern day and comprised of three factions: The Illuminati who start in New York, the Templars who start in London and the Dragons who are based in Seoul. It was strange to start with, but the concept of The Secret World is clever, as it is the first MMO to be set in a real world, as opposed to a fantasy world in an alternate reality. I felt as though I was running around playing Grand Theft Auto on the PC with hundreds of other people.

Dark Souls was without question one of the few watershed experiences of 2011. It locked players in a hostile world imbued with misery, death and resurrection, forcing them to scrap everything they knew about challenge in video games in favor of succumbing to Dark Souls’ many, many unforgiving encounters. If anything, Dark Souls completely re-defined the term ‘hardcore’ and revitalized the dungeon-crawler genre in the process.
