Today at the Game Developers Conference, Paradox Interactive announced A Game Of Dwarves where these stout beard-enthusiasts get to take center stage, with no prissy elves prancing around.
Bethesda Softworks PR and Marketing VP Pete Hines responded to rumors about Doom 4’s supposed cancellation by telling Joystiq, “When we’re ready to talk about it and show it off, we’ll let everyone know.” A batch of screenshots was leaked on AllGamesBeta which supposedly were from the “cancelled” Doom 4. However, id Software design director Matthew Hooper stated that the “Those images have nothing to do with what you’re gonna see in Doom 4.”

DC Comics’ online MMO game went free-to-play not long ago and has been releasing DLC pack of premium content for online superheroes. The upcoming third pack had a new batch of screenshots unveiled today, giving players a look at how Wonder Woman and the Amazons will fight against Braniac.

Recently Funcom announced the launch date for its newest MMO, The Secret World. Two months later than its original launch date in April, the highly anticipated MMO will go live on 19th June. Creative Director and Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist stated “Allowing for even more time to polish the game really shows just how much faith Funcom as a company has in ‘The Secret World’ and how committed we are to making it the best it can be” and “the additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch”.

Surprise! As if you probably didn’t figure this out already, Activision plans on releasing yet another entry into their Call of Duty franchise in 2012. But really, this comes as no surprise, as seemingly each new incarnation of the popular FPS breaks sales records annually, and usually the very records that the previous game set. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has reportedly made the gaming giant more than a billion (yes, the “b” word) dollars already. It shows no signs of slowing down either, and many are speculating that this year’s entry will be a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops.
