As we enter the first weekend of 2011, the new year is off to an unpromising start in terms of online game sales. The worst sale of the week has to be GamesForWindows.com who are offering a sale on Where’s Waldo The Fantastic Journey. If, for some reason, you wish to purchase it, it’s 75% off, which makes it $3.75. Lucky us, it’s on sale all week.
Razer, a company which has previously been known for making gaming peripherals like mice and keyboards, has unveiled their new concept gaming netbook, codenamed: Switchblade. In a video which is positively riddled with hyperbole, Razer CEO Min Liang Tan describes it as “Phenomenal” and a work of “Sheer Genius”, while Razer President Robert Krackoff then goes on to explain that it “Magically” adapts its OLED keyboard to suit whatever game you’re playing.
Just because the Holidays are finally over doesn’t mean that PC Gamers can quit shopping for games, and actually sit down to play with all of our loot. Dead Space 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the deep space horror game, Dead Space. This franchise was one of the most successful new IPs for Electronic Arts in 2008, and Dead Space 2 looks to continue its success in 2010. Now that there’s a public demo out for everyone to see and experience, I played through it hoping for the same amount of innovation and horror that was in Dead Space.
In the ongoing drama over the Jason West and Vince Zampella lawsuit with Activision, Activision has launched a whole new mud slinging campaign against West and Zampella’s integrity, as well as including Electronic Arts in their lawsuit. They say that EA, West, and Zampella conspired together to sabotage Treyarch, keep money for themselves that should’ve gone to their employees, and make a new company to rival Call of Duty.
It’s Day 2 of the ridiculously low prices of the Steam Christmas sales, and there is a huge number of deals for great games today. These particular discounts will only last for a day, so be sure to get these games quick if you like the prices you see.
PC Gamers and Oddworld fans have been waiting over five years for Stranger’s Wrath to be ported to the PC, and Monday December the 20th, we’ll finally get the chance to play one of the best XBox games on our fancy gaming PC’s. Stranger’s Wrath is one of four Oddworld games which can be bought individually, or altogether as a bundle called the Oddboxx.
Just when we thought Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath won the prize for “Last Great PC Game of the Year”, along comes Back to the Future from Telltale Games, which chronicles a brand new adventure for Marty, Doc and their flying, time-traveling Delorean Its release date has been set for next Wednesday, the 22nd.
As we approach Christmas, we can expect the online sales frenzy to grow greater and greater, reaching a horrid peak somewhere around the middle of next week as all the online stores and digital distributors make their final lunges at our wallets.
