I Wanted To Like That Game: Ghostbusters: The Video Game

When I heard that a new Ghostbusters game was in development back in 2009, I wasn’t particularly interested. Then I heard that the game was being created with direct input from the cast and creators of the original films and I became very excited.  When the first reviews of the game came out, I became really excited and went out and got it. I remember eagerly waiting while Ghostbusters: The Video Game installed. Once that was done I played through the tutorial and enjoyed the way that Terminal Reality had transferred the Ghostbusters concepts into gaming elements in a clever and accurate way that provided interesting gameplay and appeased fans.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Preview

I’m a big fan of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise so when I heard about W40k: Space Marine I was stoked to learn more. Developed by Relic Entertainment (who else), Space Marine takes place on an Imperial Forgeworld where a chapter of space marines, led by player-controlled Captain Titus, have been deployed to stop a rampaging Ork warboss from acquiring a relic Warlord Battle Titan, a powerful battle-walker held in storage. Other than periodic releases of screenshots, plot and gameplay details are in remarkably short supply.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Preview

Games Workshop is known for many things, one of which is the rich and dark science fiction universe of Warhammer 40,000. Set in a far flung future, the various human and Alien empires clash in epic battles. Usually at the forefront of these battles are the Adeptus Astrates, The Emperor’s Space Marines. The Space Marines of Warhammer 40K have inspired numerous things from the Terrans of Blizzard’s hit Starcraft games to the faceless Master Chief of the Halo games. Gamers have longed to have a faithful interpretation of the sheer awesome might that the Space Marines have associated with them in Warhammer lore, but graphics limitations have long delayed that.  Although we got to see some of that awesome might displayed in the Dawn of War games, we all wanted to experience the sheer carnage that the Space Marines leave in their wake, up close.

Console Exclusives We want on PC: LA Noire

Us PC gamers got cheated out of Red Dead Redemption, and now we’re afraid that we might have to lower ourselves to playing the next Rockstar opus on a console as well.  The new game is called LA Noire.  It’s set in 1947, a time when men were men and dames was nothin’ but trouble, I tell ya.  Rather than controlling a lawless reprobate, this time around, Rockstar has you playing as Johnny Law.  Unfortunately, at the moment, the only way you’ll be able to play this is if you do so on an XBox, or Playstation.
