Parks and Recreation – Born & Raised

We are
three episodes into Parks and Recreation’s fourth season and
though it has yet to produce a real barn burner, the season also
hasn’t put out any complete duds. “Born & Raised” continued
that trend with a story that brought Leslie’s birthplace into
question. Though the episode took a while to really get going, there
were still some great laughs to be had throughout its second half.

The cold
open provided a few humorous moments early on, though they would drop
off after that for awhile. Voice of Homer Simpson, Dan Castellaneta,
was responsible for a few of the opening scene’s great lines, if only
for the mellifluous drawl with which he delivered them. Besides the
comedy, the scene also introduced the driving force behind all of the
episode’s storylines. Leslie’s book about Pawnee was actually a bit
of product placement for the real life companion piece for Parks
and Recreation
, but it ended up
causing nothing but trouble for the book’s fictitious author.

NBC Gives Pilot Production Commitment to J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke Project

Deadline had the exclusive on the new
project from the creative minds behind Lost (one
of them anyway)
and Supernatural. Not much is known
about Revolution at this point, as Abrams is always tight
lipped on his new series, but what is known is that the script penned
by Kripke has been given a pilot production commitment by NBC. The
action adventure thriller will be produced by Bad Robot and Warner
Bros.

With all the plates he is already
spinning, J.J. Abrams will surely be keeping his name in the news
whether Revolution is picked up or not. Fringe is
moving into its fourth season, just after Person of Interest,
one of the new series from his production company, recently
premiered, and Alcatraz is set to start as a midseason
replacement early next year. Abrams is also maintaining a presence
on the big screen with a sequel to Star
Trek
.

El Shaddai Review

As I put the game in and reached the main menu, it already
began to win my attention with the dazzling background and mesmerizing music. El
Shaddai
from the very beginning is a game which contains a marvelous mixture of
colors, but the colors are not the only good thing about the game.

You start off as the main
character Enoch, a human scribe who has been allowed to stay in heaven while
still alive as a result of his righteousness. Now the story is based on the
defiance of a group of angels named Azazel, Ezekiel, and Sariel who are known as the Watchers.
The angels were so fascinated with the way humans lived on earth that they
decided to leave heaven to go live on earth. As a result of their actions, the
elders of heaven make the decision of flooding earth, but Enoch with his pure
heart objected. Enoch was given the mission of going down to earth and bringing
back the fallen angels to be imprisoned in heaven, in order to prevent the
elders from flooding the earth. This is where your journey begins.

Mouse Guard: The Black Axe #1 Review

Peterson returns to his prime and shows why he’s the only one that can truly craft the world of Mouse Guard. The Black Axe raises the stakes of not only his storytelling, but also his art style.

The last series of Mouse Guard – Legends of the Guard – was a series of short stories written and drawn by some of the top talents in the comics industry. The problem with the series was that it was to carefree and lackadaisical. The world of Mouse Guard is one of danger and death and Legends never seemed to capture that element.
