Today Nintendo has reached a landmark by selling 30 million Wii units in the United States. They have thusly claimed the Wii to be the fastest selling console in video game history. Following the landmark announcement, Nintendo published a very interesting list of the top-selling self-published games.
Not surprisingly, at the top of the heap is Wii Play , followed by Mario Kart and Wii Fit . Interestingly, despite having console selling power and being a launch title, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is absent from the list. Fortunately, Link does not completely fail to make an appearance and anchors himself to the tail end of the list with Link’s Crossbow Training.
While elitists might scoff at many of the aforementioned Wii titles, they would be glad to know that there are in fact some outstanding Wii games on board. Namely, the universally loved Mario Galaxy and the wonderful homage to old-school roots New Super Mario Bros. among a few others. But for those who really want to examine the list up- lose and personal, it is published below for your enjoyment.
