NHL 13 Sets Franchise Sales Record

NHL 13 has skated its way into the record books. Today, EA announced that the week one sales of the NHL 13 are the best ever, up 9% over NHL 12. This may be due to the fact that it is the only hockey game on the market this year for the second year running. Another factor may be the current lockout in the NHL, the third in the last 19 years under Gary Bettman.

Either way, gamers have decided they need their hockey fix and online results show almost 350 games being played per minute. Along those lines, 50,000 custom leagues have been created in the new GM Connected mode and over 5 million goals have been scored thus far. NHL 13 hit shelves on September 11, so be sure to pick it up if you're suffering from hockey withdrawal.
