New Star Wars Movie Title Revealed
"Use The Force"
Star Wars fans get ready. According to
The Polygon, Disney and Lucasfilm just announced
yesterday the official title of the next film in the
Star Wars franchise. Are you ready? The next film will be called
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. With principal photography recently announced to be completed, we are that much closer to getting back to that galaxy far, far away.
We know that the film will take place roughly 30 years after the Battle of Endor (
Return of the Jedi) and that the original trilogy characters Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew). There are also several fresh faces who will grace the screen alongside our rebellion heroes include Oscar Issac, Adam Driver,
12 Years a Slave's Lupita Nyong'o and Andy Serkis of
The Lord of the Rings, King King and
The Planet of the Apes reboot fame.
Your feelings on the title or cast aside, one bit of news that comes from this that cannot be denied is the fact that the great John Williams, the man responsible for single-handedly defining the musical identities of films like
Superman: The Movie,
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone,
Hook and of course, all six previous
Star Wars films, will also be returning to score
Episode VII. No matter what the film looks like, rest assured it should feel like
Star Wars thanks to Williams.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is set to open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
