A new trailer has been released for the next Splinter Cell series title, Blacklist.
Released earlier this week, this latest video depicts a range of play styles that gamers will be rewarded for employing in Blacklist, named Ghost, Assault and Panther.
Speaking about the different styles shown in the above trailer, Ubisoft's Community developer, Zack Cooper, told the EU PlayStation blog, “As you can see in the video, we’ve got three very distinct playstyles in Blacklist."
As a non-lethal option, "The ‘Ghost’ is someone who likes to get in and out of a mission, leaving absolutely no trace of their presence." Players who choose to use this tactic can either avoid enemy contact altogether or they can knock out their foes and creep on by.
If you wish to have Mr. Sam Fisher kill people however, then Ghost is not the play style for you. “If you want to use your karambit (the Indonesian knife that Sam uses in Blacklist), you’re trudging into Panther territory,” said Cooper. “Panthers remain hidden, as well, but strike – with lethal force – from the shadows. The close quarter kills are incredibly impressive; both quick and quiet.”
Assault is the final style depicted in the trailer, which “…is a different beast altogether. If you are detected and start eliminating threats – with or without a silencer – you’ll be earning cash under the Assault playstyle. You can obviously opt into it, by going loud from the get-go, but be warned: that this will not be easy."
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, and PC and is scheduled for release on August 20th.
