The much anticipated season four of Sherlock has a new teaser for fans to analyze. The teaser (below) reveals that Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) has once again found himself in a dark place.
The video gives viewers a first look at the season's villain, played by Toby Jones. His character insists that Holmes tells him his darkest secret, with a cut to the famous detective saying, “I love you” for maybe the first time ever.
The main storylines and themes of the season have been kept a secret thus far, but it looks like Sherlock will once again have to balance his stiff, serious demeanor with his feelings for his closest friends and allies.
This season also features series favorites Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).
Fans of the show will have to keep waiting a little bit longer for the season premiere Jan. 1, 2017. Check out the season four preview below.
