NBC has rounded out the cast for its modern-day Hatfields & McCoys. The series takes place in Pittsburgh, with the wealthy Hatfields pitted against the blue-collar McCoys after a surprising death re-sparks their feud.
Sophia Bush, best known for her starring role on long-running CW drama One Tree Hill, will star as Emma, a doctor and the eldest of the McCoy siblings. Jesse Lee Soffer (The Mob Doctor) and Patrick Flueger (The 4400) will play her younger brothers Patrick and Jack, respectively, while relative newcomer Nick Westrate will play the ne’er-do-well Randall Hatfield.
Rebecca De Mornay, whose last television credit was John from Cincinnati, will head the Hatfield clan as Mary Hatfield, the city’s sophisticated and driven mayor. She’ll face off against Virginia Madsen (Sideways), who plays the vengeful McCoy matriarch, Eloise.
The pilot, to be written by Eagle Eye's John Glenn and produced by Charlize Theron, comes after the History Channel’s award-winning miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, which attracted 14 million viewers and earned 16 Emmy nominations, including a lead actor trophy for Kevin Costner.
