NBC has announced premiere dates for fall season 2012, and it would seem the peacock network has turned the traditional premiere week into a period spanning three months.
The expression "premiere week" comes from the fact that broadcast networks have generally made our lives easier by having most of their fall shows premiere during one week in September. The loosely-defined week may not be the same for all networks, but there is almost always that one calendar week with enough overlapping premieres to support the idea of a cross-network "premiere week." And needless to say, it typically has the decency to be at the turn of summer, right when autumn is about to start, as if to put some meaning in "fall TV season."
