Mullally, Wu Added to Hulu’s Dimension 404 Cast
Hulu’s upcoming sci-fi anthology series
Dimension 404 is adding two members to its already star-studded cast. Megan Mullally (
Children’s Hospital) will portray hard-nosed NSA military commander Director Stevens, while Constance Wu (
Fresh Off the Boat) will portray a military psychologist named Jane who helps the NSA prevent a deadly terrorist attack.
Dimension 404 is a reference to the infamous 404 error message that appears when a bad or nonexistent URL is entered. Produced by up-and-coming digital entertainment company RocketJump and Lionsgate,
Dimension 404 is hoping to “evoke that 3 a.m. feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web” in a manner that will resonate with
Black Mirror or
Twilight Zone fans.
Previously announced additions to the
Dimension 404 cast include Lea Michele, Robert Buckley, Joel McHale, Ryan Lee, Sarah Hyland, Ashley Rickards, and Patton Oswalt. As it is an anthology series, these actors will presumably not all be part of the same episodes, although Mullally and Wu will appear in the same
Dimension 404 episode.
Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs expressed his enthusiasm for Dimension 404 in a statement released during the show’s announced launch this past February.
“As the fourth series with our wonderful partners at Hulu, we are very excited to bring
Dimension 404 to life,” said Beggs. “RocketJump’s Freddie Wong, Matthew Arnold and Creator/Showrunner Dez Dolly have tapped directly into the digital consumer zeitgeist with their distinctive vision and special, kinetic brand of creativity. We feel that the RocketJump team is uniquely positioned to bring digital viewers a fresh take on all the wild things that amaze and scare us today.”
Filming for
Dimension 404 began earlier this month and the series is slated to appear on Hulu sometime in 2017. For more info, check out the TV News section of Entertainment Fuse!
