Gary Oldman to star in “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”

After long rumours in the media, it has finally conformed that Gary Oldman has been cast as George Smiley in the cinematic adaptation of the John le Carre novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

To those who don’t know about the work of John le Carre, he is spy novelist who has written novels like The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and The Constant Gardener. His work been adapted and his know for taking a more realistic, understated view on the world of espionage, and made it a polar opposite to James Bond.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole Review

Although this dark adventure might be kin to a moving portrait, the story is a polar opposite — bland and utterly generic. There is much to admire in “Guardians,” but unfortunately still epitomizes the axiom “style over substance.” Having already tossed around words such as “grim” and “dark” I hope you would come to the conclusion this is not a movie for young children.
