Gary Oldman to star in “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”

After long rumours in the media, it has finally conformed that Gary Oldman has been cast as George Smiley in the cinematic adaptation of the John le Carre novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

To those who don’t know about the work of John le Carre, he is spy novelist who has written novels like The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and The Constant Gardener. His work been adapted and his know for taking a more realistic, understated view on the world of espionage, and made it a polar opposite to James Bond.

Warner Bros closer to naming “Superman” director

Keep your eyes on the skies for the next month, folks. Deadline has it that Christopher Nolan, along with fellow producer Emma Thomas, have hit the search hard for a director for the upcoming “Superman” reboot.

You already know what’s going to happen: the past between the central characters, the unrealistically immature behavior of the parties involved, the realization that they’ve been immature, and the sappy, almost too-good-to-be-true resolve.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole Review

Although this dark adventure might be kin to a moving portrait, the story is a polar opposite — bland and utterly generic. There is much to admire in “Guardians,” but unfortunately still epitomizes the axiom “style over substance.” Having already tossed around words such as “grim” and “dark” I hope you would come to the conclusion this is not a movie for young children.

Breakthrough actresses Emma Stone and Mia Wasikowska are among the new additions to the list of actresses who might star alongside Andrew Garfield in Marc Webb’s Spider-man reboot. Actresses who were already in contention for the role are Lily Collins (The Blind Side), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later), and Emma Roberts (upcoming film Scream 4).
