Whedon and fans not thrilled with Whedon-less “Buffy” reboot

Atlas Entertainment (by way of Charles Roven, executive producer of Batman Begins) and Warner Bros. have announced that the “Buffy” reboot is officially on and yes, Joss Whedon is still not involved. No word on who is directing the film, but Whit Anderson (who?) will be writing the script for what is being described as an “updated” Buffy.

Zack Snyder eyeing Matthew Goode for Superman?

Matthew Goode might nab the highly coveted role of Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Superman: Man of Steel. That’s the rumor flying all across the blogosphere courtesy of Movienewz. Day-Lewis will star in Spielberg’s “Lincoln” biopic

2010 has been an active year for Steven Spielberg’s long in development Lincoln project. Liam Neeson had long since been attached to play the lead and earlier in the year, Sally Field had been announced as playing Lincoln’s wife, Marry Todd Lincoln. However, news broke over the summer that Neeson, having grown tired of the project’s long stay in developmental hell, had left the project, leaving Spielberg without his (perfectly cast) Lincoln.

“Deathly Hallows” breathes life into weekend box office

It is no surprise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was a smash hit at the weekend box office. Beginning with midnight shows across the country, the seventh installment of the long running series garnered $125 million in ticket sales. Approximately $24 million came from the midnights alone; a record for the franchise. The Next Three Days was dead on arrival. It managed fifth place with $9.6 million.
