First official image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield became more widely known to American audiences after starring and giving a great performance in The Social Network, but his casting as Peter Parker in Marc Webb’s upcoming Spidey reboot is still being met with skepticism. If it means anything, I still don’t think that Peter Parker would don such huge hair.

The Ron Howard “Dilemma”

Ron Howard, though he doesn’t have quite the pull that Scorsese or Spielberg or Tarantino does, has enough to make me hand over the cash equivalent of 42 minutes of working time to see his film. The man shows a true zest for his profession, which in turn is manifested in his movies. He reminds me oddly enough of the Coen Brothers, each seemingly trying to successfully attack every genre film has to offer.

The Green Hornet Review

The Green Hornet ended up being mostly what it had intended to be: a fun, colorful romp that didn’t take itself too seriously. Over the next three years almost all of the major superhero resources will have been strip-mined with the exception of Wonder Woman, The Flash and Aquaman, and it should not take long for these entries to see the light of the silver screen if trends continue, but where do they go from there?

Trailer Tracker: The Ward, Big Mommas, Wimpy Kid 2

Even with the downtime that accompanies January at theaters, Trailer Tracker may still have some clips that tickle your fancy, so to speak. John Carpenter’s The Ward and the third installment in Martin Lawrence’s “Big Mommas House” franchise are among this week’s trailers, so if the post Christmas blues have you down, don’t fret, its Trailer Tracker.

“Bond 23” happening: Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes still on

The 23rd Bond installment will begin shooting late this year after the tumultuous financial situation at MGM delayed the film. Although we don’t know the story just yet, we do know that the film will take place after Quantum of Solace and that John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade will pen the script with Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition) directing and Daniel Craig returning to play Bond for the third time.
