Darren Aronofsky No Longer Directing “The Wolverine”

Jennifer Lawrence Gets Leading Role in “Hunger Games”

We
saw it coming from a mile away, but now it’s official: Academy Award
nominee Jennifer Lawrence will play Katniss Everdeen in an upcoming
adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games.
Katniss was one of the most coveted roles of the past year. Academy Award nominees Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld, Sucker Punch’s Emily Browning, Kick-Ass star
Chloe Moretz, and Emma Roberts are just a few of the actresses who were
in contention to play this character. According to The Wrap, Lionsgate
plans on making a film trilogy with the aforementioned title and its two
sequels, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The role of Peeta still hasn’t been cast, though Alex Pettyfer of Beastly and I Am Number Four fame is being considered for the role.

Will Liam Neeson be in the “Taken” Sequel?


UPDATE: Liam Neeson has officially signed on to star in the sequel to Taken.
It was earlier reported that he might not agree to film the sequel
because he wanted to take a breather, but he and writer Luc Besson have
settled their differences. After finishing up Wrath of the Titans, Neeson will relax for the remainder of 2011. Deadline Hollywood relays that production for the Taken sequel might begin at the end of the year or the beginning of next year.
