Kevin Costner Playing Clark Kent’s Father in Zack Snyder’s “Superman” Reboot

Zack Snyder’s reboot of Superman has boasted a rather interesting
casting history. British actor Henry Cavill was chosen to play Clark
Kent, sending many American moviegoers into a rage, despite the fact
that Kent is neither American nor British. Then we learned that Diane
Lane would play Clark’s adoptive mother, Martha.

Now Deadline Hollywood
confirms that Kevin Costner will play Martha’s husband and Clark’s
adoptive father, Jonathan. He entered talks a little while ago, but
nothing was official until recently. Also, the film now looks to release
in December of 2012.

Limitless Review

For a film with a drug that unleashes the full potential of the human mind at the center, you’d think that Limitless could have tried a little harder to maximize its smarts and not opt to simply dissolve into a by-the-numbers, action thriller. Interesting ideas are abound here about the nature of sanity, memory, human intelligence, morality, etc. are rampant and the film squeezes those themes in an enigmatic and stylishly ethereal package.

Sports Movie Madness: Soccer (Football) Movies – Round 1

Hello
all, we continue with our sports movie season of March Movie Madness by
looking at the world’s most popular sport: soccer (or “football” as it
is known to most of the world).

Football
is the national sport of many countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia
and Africa. It’s easy to play, with a simple kick about, and the World
Cup is the world’s biggest sporting event. But unfortunately the sport’s
governing body, FIFA, is run by corrupt fools; somehow they think
Russia and Qatar are better World Cup hosts than England, Australia, the
United States and South Korea (as you can tell I‘m still a little
bitter). Because of the sport’s popularity to people of all ages and
instant appeal to footy fans, soccer films do have an international
appeal. They are inspiring stories about how victory was achieved to
stories looking at social issues.
