James Mangold is the Top Choice for ‘The Wolverine’

It’s no secret that The Wolverine has had quite a bit of trouble getting off the ground. Darren Aronofsky’s departure in March wasn’t a good sign of things to come, but at long last, this project seems to be making some progress. Both Jackman and Fox have decided that James Mangold should occupy the director’s seat for ‘Wolverine.’ He’ll soon enter negotiations to take over the project.

The Weinstein Company has confirmed in a press release that “Django” will be released on Christmas Day in 2012. This certainly makes the film a more concrete prospect and affirms both Tarantino’s Oscar-winning qualities and ability to make a potential winter blockbuster. ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ to Get a Rewrite from Hossein Amini


Last we heard, Relativity’s project, which still lacks a title but has been referred to as “The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White,” moved from late June 2012 up to March, but only in response to Universal moving Snow White and the Huntsman up from December 2012 to early June. In other words, the studios are rushing against each other to be the first to hit the market in what could be a detriment to them both it seems. With less than a year until the film’s current release date, Hossein Amini will rewrite the script for “Huntsman” for Universal as the studio prepares to take on Relativity.
