New Line and Warner Bros. Won’t ‘Escape from New York’

Despite its shortcomings, the 1981 flick Escape from New York remains a staple of the action genre to this day, thanks to its no-nonsense attitude and Kurt Russell’s iconic performance as Snake Plissken.
