Comic-Con Movies 2011: ‘Seventh Son’ and ‘Paradise Lost’


Legendary Pictures didng’t bring its “A game” to Comic-Con this year (that would be The Dark Knight Rises or Man of Steel), but it did bring a handful of projects barely out of the embryonic stage. Two of those films were the period fantasy The Seventh Son starring Jeff Bridges and director Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost starring Bradley Cooper and based on John Milton’s epic.

Comic-Con Movies 2011: Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’


One of the unexpected panels announced for Comic-Con 2011 was Legendary Pictures, the film company partnered with Warner Bros. that has delivered Zack Snyder’s films and Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” features. One of their long-term projects is Pacific Rim, a all-stops-pulled monster movie being directed by Guillermo del Toro.

Comic-Con 2011 Movies Schedule: Friday


Friday, July 22 will likely be the most exciting day of the Comic-Con 2011 convention featuring The Adventures of Tintin,
the exciting motion-capture animated film from Steven Spielberg.
Spielberg, who will in fact make his first Comic-Con appearance ever, ends with a Sony panel that includes The Amazing Spider-Man and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Comic-Con Movies 2011: EW Visionaries: Guillermo Del Toro & Jon Favreau

Comic-Con presents its yearly tradition, the Entertainment Weekly Visionaries panel. This year’s panel includes Jon Favreau (Iron Man) and Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy). Both directors hit it off quickly establishing with the Comic-Con audience that they not only knew each other but had plenty in common professionally. In particular, both men will soon adapt Disney-related properties into film. Favreau was a bit more forthcoming about his latest mash-up project while del Toro kept rather mum about Pacific Rim.

Comic-Con Movies 2011: Robert Rodriguez
