Abrams and ‘Star Trek 2’ Inch Closer, ‘G.I. Joe 2’ Takes Its June Release Date


J.J. Abrams appears to finally be ready to make Star Trek 2 happen. After a little vacation, he’s ready to get to work, but the film won’t come out in June of next year. Instead, Paramount will release newly re-titled G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Trailer Tracker: Comic-Con Edition

Player Affinity never rests
when it comes to trailers and thanks to San Diego’s Comic-Con a good chunk of
new and interesting clips were revealed, some of which so cool we thought they
deserved their own edition. First we have In
Time
, the sci-fi action thriller starring Justin Timberlake in a world
where longevity is more valuable than gold, then Haywire, Steven Soderbergh’s pissed-off-chick-on-a-mission revenge
flick. The out-of-nowhere angle comes from the independent effort Knights of Badassdom, and finally we

Warner Bros. Gives ‘Arthur & Lancelot’ a Release Date

Since paying $2 million for the script for Arthur & Lancelot
(nice work if you can get it), Warner Bros. is making big moves for
their contemporary retelling of Arthurian legends, as reported in Deadline. Already attached to the project is Lionel Wigram, the producer of Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter since “Order of the Phoenix,” and David Dorkin (Wedding Crashers, The Change-Up) is set to direct and produce. Arthur & Lancelot has been penciled for a March 15, 2013 release date and going to have a $90 million budget. There is no word yet on casting.
