Not that it was ever truly a question to begin with, but for word has been out for awhile that 20th Century Fox plans to make another “Die Hard” installment. It even snagged a director in Noam Murro (Smart People) this past June, but the project has hit a snag in that department.
Who would have thought that The Smurfs would offer serious competition to Cowboys & Aliens? Yet those silly little blue cartoons managed to open at a projected tie of $36.2 million with Jon Favreau’s genre experiment.
Scribe Drew Pearce became synonymous with the superhero scene upon
creating, producing, and writing for the televised superhero satire No Heroics. After that, he was hired to pen a script for Marvel’s Runaways, and now he’s on board to write for yet another project about superheroes.
Paramount has snagged Pearce to give DC Comics’ The Mighty a film adaptation according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog. The comic focuses on a police officer’s suspicions about an adored hero and his potential connection to a series of murders.
HBO’s acclaimed comedy series Entourage will come to a close this
fall, but that doesn’t mean that the book on Vincent Chase is closing
forever. There’s been talk of the series getting a film adaptation, and
it doesn’t look like such talk will be simmering down anytime soon.
Doug Ellin, the creator and executive producer of Entourage,
recently went on the record saying that the movie will happen but that
he isn’t sure when it’ll come to fruition. Here’s his exact quote,
