Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Delayed Progress of ‘Runaways’

Quite some time ago, Marvel announced a film adaptation of the comic The Runaways, which sees five teenagers in Los Angeles
fighting against their supervillain parents with special abilities of
their own. However, this project is still in the pre-production stages.

Despite already having a script from popular comic book scribe Drew Pearce, Marvel brushed it to the side to focus on The Avengers, a film that will see Iron Man, Captain America, and other popular Marvel heroes joining forces to save the world; that film is slated to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.
